Melissa Wasserman, Psy.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Wasserman is a Post-Doctoral fellow specializing in treating adults experiencing depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as anxiety problems including social anxiety, intrusive thoughts, health anxiety, and panic disorder. She also focuses on maternal mental health, relationship issues, and problems with self-esteem, communication, and assertiveness. She is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and emphasizes alliance-focused techniques to ensure a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. She also integrates Mindfulness and Relational-based approaches.
Dr. Wasserman received her B.S. from Syracuse University, her M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her Psy.D. from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. She completed her internship at the VA New Jersey Health Care System. Her research focused on evaluating factors that may enhance the therapeutic alliance.
