New York Cognitive is a private treatment center in Manhattan that provides individualized care for a variety of disorders.

Our team, headed by Dr. Jamie Schumpf and Dr. Lindsay Tulchin, are recognized specialists in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, relationship and interpersonal issues, perinatal and postpartum concerns, life stressors, and sleep disorders.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced-based, time-limited, and skills-oriented treatment with robust research demonstrating efficacy in treating a diverse array of psychological disorders. Treatment is collaborative in nature with an emphasis on meeting goals and effecting change.

Services Provided


Individual Therapy

Individualized CBT treatment utilizing a collaborative approach to meet goals, provide symptom relief, and improve functioning and quality of life.


Group Therapy

Within a group of 5-8 members, individuals learn how to meet their goals using cognitive behavioral strategies, while gaining support and encouragement from (and providing support and encouragement to) others who are coping with similar difficulties.


New York Cognitive does not participate with any insurance companies. After your payment is received, you will be given an itemized superbill with all information required to submit to your insurance plan for possible reimbursement as out-of-network mental health services. 

Please check with your insurance company regarding out-of-network benefits to determine what type of reimbursement you may be entitled to. When contacting your insurance company, it is recommended that you ask the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • Can I receive reimbursement after seeing an out-of-network provider?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Typical “CPT code” is 90834 (45-50 minute individual psychotherapy)
